I stayed in Bocawina Rainforest Lodge & Adventures which is located within the Mayflower Bocawina National Park, Hopkins Belize.

On this trip, I traveled with two of my former high school classmates..It was suppose to be a class trip but only 3 of us wound up going. But we had a ball! We flew into the main airport located Belize city, Belize. Then we took a small passenger plane (approx. $160 round trip) to Dangria, Belize because it was quicker than a shuttle that would take about 3.5 hoursh for close to the same price. From Dangria we catch their version of a shuttle/taxi...when actually its was an old mazda driven by a local for $45 round trip.

The #1 must do in Belize - Hike up Antelope Falls!

Number 2- Swim at the bottom of Bocawina Waterfalls

The water is crystal clear and very chilly. Bring extra mosquito spray in your book bag because the water will wash it off. You will regret not having any on during the hike back down. The mosquitoes there are extremely bad...please invest in traveling with repellent here.

3rd must do in Belize ---- Zipline through the jungle

Bocawina has the longest zip line in Belize with 14 platforms, 9 different runs. The complete course is 2.5 miles long with the longest single run being 2,300 feet.

Four -- Climb the Mayan Ruins

The Stone Lady was the highest Mayan ruin that we climbed. It was so far up, that at the top another country could be seen literally. That country was Guatemala, from which Belize had not too many years had liberated from. Belize was declared an independent nation from Guatemala on 21 September 1981. "Guatemala established relations with Belize in 1991, ten years after Belizean independence. Belize has an embassy in Guatemala City while Guatemala has an embassy in Belize City. The two countries have had a long-standing dispute over the territory of Belize."

Fifth Belize to do - Enjoy the food!!

Especially if you have fresh Lime, Coconut, Bread Fruit, Lemons, and Oranges growing right on the property! The resort was an Eco resort, which meant NO air conditioning! we had fans and a lotttt of water! Every day all day was ice cold water with fresh limes and lemons inside of it. It was absolutely divine! I have never drank so much water and loved it. The picture following is the complimentary continental breakfast! Fresh fruit, oatmeal, muffins, Juice, eggs, and fresh cold water!

"It was Un-Belize -able!" (some of the things you will see on the tourist shirts) "Belize it or not!"
